For the next 30 days, Parks Canada invites comments from stakeholders, partners and the public on a detailed impact assessment (DIA) for the Keltic Road realignment. The proposed work includes the inland realignment of the Keltic In Road away from the coastal zone to address safety concerns caused by coastal erosion, and upgrades to aging infrastructure, including water and electrical systems. The existing portion of the Keltic In Road will be restored to a natural state in the future. Improvements to the existing conditions of the Keltic Out Road, such as repaving and installation of new culverts, are also being considered.

This is an opportunity to share your thoughts on the project. Considering that many of the design elements of the Keltic Road were developed to avoid or reduce impacts, the DIA focuses on valued components that have the greatest potential to be impacted by the project or that require site-specific analysis.
Site preparation and construction are expected to begin as early as late summer 2024 with the expected project completion being fall 2026.

For more information and to share your thoughts, please click visit: aeic-iaac.gc.ca/050/evaluations/proj/80988?version=20593

Please note, this is for the Keltic Road project only; there will be an opportunity to discuss the Keltic main lodge in the future and those details are still being worked out. Comments and feedback on the draft DIA are being collected until June 3, 2024.

It is important to note that the two official methods of providing feedback are via email (cbinfo@pc.gc.ca) or telephone (902-224-2306). Comments provided on this social media post will not be considered as part of the consultation process.
